KINGS ARMS at SCALFORD

  The Kings Arms has now become a free house.

  A nd Michael Birt (pictured) and co owner Mark Taylor have opted to have a
  Local Beer brewed within a 25 mile radius. Melton's Campaign for Real Ale
  Branch (CAMRA) are pleased the pub has joined the CAMRA Locale scheme.

  was selected by Branch members for continuously serving a good selection
  of ales and excellent food.
 

 
ROYAL HORSESHOES at WALTHAM

  Has now re-opened after being shut for 18 months, new owner Mick Nickleson has spent £150,000 on a new thatched roof and a complete re-furbishment. The pub was formely known as the Gin Palace and Mick has kept the tradition by having 16 Gins on offer. Food will be on offer in a few weeks, and Mick's long term aim is to refurbish the guest accomadation and create a business meeting centre.
  The pub got its name when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stopped ther for refreshment in 1843 whilst on route from Belvoir Castle to Melton.
