Having just bought his first public house the 16th Century Inn the Stag and Hounds at Burrough on the Hill, Baz started one of the first brew pubs in the Midlands. This was to become The Parish Brewery. The beer was brewed in the cellar of the pub and produced 18 gallons a week.
After 3 years I moved to the old stable block next door to the pub, and had increased production from 18 gallons to 180 gallons a week. In 1988 I sold the Stag and Hounds and bought the Three Crowns Pub in Somerby and introduced a 20 barrel brewery in a refurbished building. After 16 years at Somerby I sold the pub as a going concern, and moved the 20 barrel plant back to the refurbished stable block at Burrough on the Hill.
In 2009 the Stag and Hounds came up for sale and along with my Business partner purchased the pub. After refurbishing and changing the pub name to Grants (From my late fathers name) we re-opened to the public.
Baz with his exstensive Brewing Knowledge has passed this on and helped set up micro brewerys, these include :-Shaws Brewery in Duckenfield, Langtons Brewery in East Langton, Funfair Brewery at Derby, Alton Brewery at Alton Towers, Ufford Ales at Stamford, Digfield Ales at Kettering, Fenn Ales at Lincolnshire, Oakham Ales now in Peterborough, Black Horse at Cardigan Wales, Bees Queniborough Leics (now in Lincs), Silverstone in Northampton and Northern Brewing Ltd in Cheshire.
